As they say, “Necessity is the mother of invention”. Suffering from neck and shoulder pain while playing my guitar, I set out to discover a way to reduce the shoulder weight of my instruments to allow me to play more comfortably for longer periods of time.

After searching the internet and my local guitar shops for a weight reducing solution, it became clear that I was going to have to take matters into my own hands and develop a better ergonomic solution than what I was finding on the market. Through trial and error I soon created three different ways to displace either a portion of the weight, or move the entire weight of my instrument to my waist. To confirm the ergonomic designs worked I had a number of players try out the new designs and provide feedback on their experience. Players instantly experienced relief by removing some or all the weight from their shoulder and practicing, rehearsing and gigging suddenly became much more bearable. Players that were experiencing symptoms related to "guitar shoulder" were suddenly pain free the after using one of these straps. Based on those results along with the number of requests for the straps, I decided to launch Slinger Straps.

Today all of our guitar and camera straps are available world wide via our website. Our goal is to help guitar and bass players play as long and comfortably as they desire. Even players with no pain should consider the benefits of these ergonomic guitar straps to help avoid future nerve and tendon compression issues. For players who just can't break away from a standard styled guitar strap designs, we've also designed 2 and 3-inch guitar straps that also deliver much needed pain relief. Photographers who carry heavy gear around for hours at a time can also benefit from the designs and materials we use to get the same relief we offer musicians.

Experience a whole new level of comfort and endurance with a Slinger Strap and "Take the Pain Out of Playing."
